Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 30, 2026

1. Introduction

FiberFinder LLC ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website fiberfinder.ai, use our mobile applications for iOS and Android (collectively, the "Apps"), and use our related services (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide:

  • Street addresses entered for broadband availability checks
  • Email addresses for newsletter subscriptions or account creation
  • Contact form submissions (name, email, message)
  • Outage reports you submit, including your description and location
  • Account registration information for ISP users

Information collected automatically:

  • IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring website
  • Device information (model, operating system, unique device identifiers)

Information collected through the Apps:

  • Precise location data — with your permission, we collect GPS coordinates to find internet providers near you, display coverage maps, and attach location to outage reports. Location is collected only while the App is in use and only after you grant permission.
  • Speed test results — download speed, upload speed, and latency measurements performed through the App. These are associated with your approximate location to provide regional speed insights.
  • Push notification tokens — a device-specific identifier used to deliver push notifications about outages and weather alerts. This token does not reveal personal information and is used solely for notification delivery.
  • Network information — connection type (Wi-Fi, cellular) used to contextualize speed test results.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide broadband availability results for addresses you search
  • To display internet providers and coverage maps near your location
  • To run speed tests and show your results alongside regional benchmarks
  • To accept and display community outage reports in your area
  • To send push notifications about outages and severe weather that may affect your internet service
  • To send newsletter updates you have opted into
  • To respond to contact form inquiries
  • To provide ISP dashboard and intelligence services
  • To improve our services and user experience
  • To generate aggregate, anonymized analytics
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. Location Data

The Apps request access to your device's location services. We use location data to:

  • Look up internet service providers available at your location
  • Display nearby outage reports on the coverage map
  • Attach geographic context to outage reports you submit
  • Provide localized weather risk assessments for your area

You can deny or revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. Some features (provider lookup, outage reporting, weather alerts) will have reduced functionality without location access. We do not track your location in the background or when the App is not in use.

5. Speed Test Data

Speed test results (download speed, upload speed, latency) are stored with an approximate location to provide regional speed comparisons. Individual speed test results are not sold to third parties. We may use aggregated, anonymized speed data to publish broadband performance reports and improve our service recommendations.

6. Push Notifications

With your permission, we send push notifications about internet outages in your area and severe weather events that may affect your service. We use the Expo Push Notification Service to deliver these notifications. Your push token is stored on our servers and shared with the Expo push service solely for notification delivery. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App.

7. Address Data

When you search for broadband availability, we use the address you enter solely to look up internet service options. We may retain anonymized, aggregate search data to improve our services and understand broadband demand patterns. We do not sell individual address search data to third parties.

8. Cookies and Tracking

On our website, we use essential cookies required for the Service to function, analytics cookies to understand usage patterns, and performance cookies to optimize page load times. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, though some features may not function properly without them. The Apps do not use cookies but may use local device storage (AsyncStorage) to save your preferences and cached data.

9. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication (stores account data, speed tests, outage reports)
  • Expo Push Notification Service — delivers push notifications to your device
  • National Weather Service API — provides weather and storm risk data (no personal data is sent to NWS)
  • Analytics platforms — privacy-focused analytics to understand usage patterns
  • Email delivery services — for newsletter and transactional emails

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing the use of your data.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

  • With service providers who assist in operating our platform
  • When required by law or to respond to legal process
  • To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
  • In aggregated, anonymized form for broadband research and reporting
  • With your consent

11. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data transmitted between the Apps and our servers is encrypted using TLS. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure.

12. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Speed test results and outage reports may be retained in anonymized form indefinitely for aggregate analysis. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time.

13. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Revoke location or notification permissions through your device settings

14. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and, where appropriate, through in-app notifications. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
